Table Talk

Our new city condo meant downsizing our six seater dining room table to four. I saw this as a perfect excuse for a little thrift store shopping. We stumbled upon this beauty of an oak table in Vancouver. Our new purchase was a fraction of the price compared to my dream table. The only problem, it wasn't white. While we thought we could sand down and refinish it we knew we would be biting off more than we could chew. We stumbled upon a vintage store in Quebec City who happened to refinish old goods. We sent this bad boy off for two weeks of sanding, priming, sanding, painting, repeat x8. It returned a whole new table! Beautiful, clean, & white.
We paired the heavy white oak with light aluminum chairs.
Ta da!! I am paranoid about scratches, so for now it has a table cloth.  As well as vintage glass bottles (which hold candles during special events). Best part is two leaves can be added to allow 6 people to dine comfortably. We will be testing this out tonight for our first dinner party of the summer!
