Geek Out

Lately you can find me curled up on the couch, lawn chair, or on a beach towel with a good book. But it isn't just any book, it's one from James Patterson's Alex Cross series. Now I know the first few books have been around for yeeeaaarrrsss. However, I have just been turned onto them. How?! Thrifting of course. I have always loved mysteries (I was quite the Nancy Drew fan when I was younger). I stumbled upon the $1 book section & happily scooped up Along Came A Spider, the first book in the series. After 48 hours of not being able to put the book down I knew I was hooked! I usually read on my ipad but there is something great about holding an actual book in your hands. But lets be honest I really like collecting all of books after I have read them :) 

I have been reading the books as I find them in the thrift stores so unfortunately not in order... I highly recommend reading them in order ha.

Must Have Monday- Skittle Sneaks

We all know I love color. So of course when I saw all of Nike's bold colored sneaks I knew I had to have a pair. It just so happens that the shoes remind me of my favorite kind of skittles, tropical. The mouth watering colors had me wandering around the store in bliss. After an hour or so I finally decided on hot orange. So yes I bought a shoe completely based on color but, I was pleasantly surprised to find them comfortable as well. I have abnormally wide feet & these barefoot running shoes are breathable, lightweight, & supportive! This Must Have Monday is Nike Free Run + 3 because who doesn't want fast colorful sneaks?!

Happy Grad Little Bro

Today I am a very proud big sister. My little broski is graduating from high school. I am so honored to be able to spend this special day with him. It feels like only yesterday I myself was walking the exact same stage eager to see what college life had in store for me.  I know he is going to have an amazing 4 years at the University of Minnesota. I am so excited to see what the future has in store for him.

What's up doc?

 It is safe to say I have been obsessed with a carrots recipe I found in my Vegetarian Times months ago. I have finally decided to share with you this delish recipe. Say hello to carrots, dill, & orange heaven.

• All you need is:
• 1 ¼ lb. baby carrots, trimmed (4 cups)
• 4 tsp. orange juice
• 1 Tbs. butter, cut into pieces
• 2 tsp. fresh orange zest
• 1 tsp. fresh dill (dried works ok too)

It is as easy as:

Steam the carrots

Melt butter

Combine orange juice, dill & melted butter in a bowl

Toss in steamed carrots

Garnish with fresh orange zest

Enjoy!!

It has been a very busy two weeks! We packed up our entire place in BC & started our move across country to Quebec. I flew into MN & surprised my mom for her birthday while my fab fiancé drove our car/trailer 29 hours to Minneapolis. Since we have been home we have had several happy hours, dinners with friends, my brother's prom, & an intimate engagement dinner. Here are some pictures of what currently is making me happy.

Little Break
